The Swiss National 10,000m at Langenthal Switzerland was very hot.

The Swiss National 10,000m at Langenthal Switzerland was on a very hot day at 29deg at 5:20pm with a field of 25 starters.In view of the possibilty of a shin muscle injury with a faster pace and stride length I settled for a slower pace and smaller stride length to conserve energy for the 25 laps in the heat.This proved quite sensible as 8 of the field dropped out during the race.I finished 17th in 47:16.44 which was slower than hoped for but reasonable in view of the conditions.This placed me 16th on the USAT&F World Masters Rankings for mens  55-59 10,000m at June 2015.Apart from the heat and shin problem the previous training including the hills was valid.Some photos are attached ;
